Seeking Communication Officer

UWH Australia are looking for a enthusiastic and driven individual to join the committee in the role of Communications Officer.

If you play or follow our favorite underwater sport, and have an interest in journalism, social media and public relations, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

This role is suited to someone with experience in, or an aptitude to learn, the following skills:

  • Website maintenance
  • Writing Media Releases
  • Social Media maintenance and monitoring
  • Liaising with media and responding to enquiries
  • Managing communications in and out of UHA
  • Organising media and promotions around events
  • Promotion of the sport
  • Managing the portrayal of UHA brand

The applicant must should also demonstrate the following:

  • Passion towards the sport underwater hockey
  • Eagerness to learn and develop their communication skills
  • High levels of self motivation
  • Attention to detail
  • Oraginsation and time management skills

Previous Communications Officer, Nina Barry Macaulay, commented on the benefits she has received during her time in the role.

Call for Coaches, Managers & Selectors

 Call for Coaches, Managers and Selectors for Elite and Masters teams for 2017/18

Team AUSTRALIA 2016

Team AUSTRALIA 2016

We are now looking for Coaches and Managers for 2017/18 Elites and Masters teams. At this stage the schedule will be a trans-tasman/interim tournament in 2017 (likely to either be a invitational tournament in Hawai in Mid Sept 2017 (Australia, NZ, Canada, USA and possibly Colombia) or travelling to European Championships in Hungary in Aug 2017. This may be different for each team. Managers would not be required to travel for this tournament. Then Worlds Championships in Quebec Canada in late July 2018.

 

We will be looking for coaches for:

-          Elite Mens

-          Elite Womens

-          Masters Mens

-          Masters Womens

 

We will be looking for two managers, preferably to work together, or one to manage masters and one elites. We will have a mangers handbook completed by the time of the position appointment to aid with the managing process.

 

We will also require selector for the above 4 divisions at the January 2017 Nationals in QLD to select teams for the 2017 tournament, 2018 teams will be selected at 2018 Nationals.

If you are attending 2017 nationals we require selectors for the 2017 Age Group teams for Worlds:

-          U23 Boys (coached by Nick Martyn and Greg Stinson)

-          U23 Girls (coached by Hannah Robert-Tissot and Nina Barry Macaulay)

-          U19 Boys (coached by Steve Cleary, Jack Robert-Tissot and Jumpy)

-          U19 Girls (coached by Chris Wenman and Chris Cleaver)
