The UHA calls for expressions of interest from prospective referees interested in any assisting on upcoming competitions.
A number of opportunities exist for new starters right through to highly experienced referees, including:

Refereeing opportunities exist to participate in the upcoming National club comp. No set funding available. - New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship
5-8 September
These championships are open to those who have some experience refereeing, and wish to further their long term refereeing. It is an ideal competition to use as a stepping stone to international level refereeing. Funding for airfares, accommodation and most meals is available. Assistance with special leave documentation for representation at a National and or International event also available on request. - QLD state titles
5-6 October - WA state titles

Open to all those who wish to further their refereeing career. A level 1 accreditation is preferable, as is previous refereeing experience at club level. We will require experienced referees with at least Level 2 accreditation, and/or previous international experience or international elite players who can demonstrate their ability to referee at this level. Previous refereeing at Nationals is highly desired, either as a playing or non-playing referee. It is expected that anybody interested in this competition will referee at the Nationals in January 2020. There will be far more places available at this competition as it is located in Australia. Funding for airfares, accommodation and most meals is available. Assistance with special leave documentation for representation at a National and or International event also available on request.
