2012 Nationals Day 3 Schedule

Half way through the comp now and we are on Day 3 of the 2012 Nationals. Today we have some night games and starting to whittle the Men’s teams down for the finals. See below for the full schedule.

2012 Nationals Day 1 Schedule

The 2012 Nationals get underway today with the first games being a home ground derby between the WA Men and the WA Colts – this will be a very interesting game to see if the young bloods can beat the main team. 2nd up in Court 1 is another local derby between WA Metro and WA Country. Also of interest today is the Singpore team taking on NSW and WA Country.

Announcement of Nationals 2012 to be held in Perth

Australian Underwater Hockey Championships, Perth, 22 – 26 January 2012.
Hosted on behalf of Underwater Hockey Australia by the WA Underwater Hockey Commission

The Venue

The championships are planned to be held at Challenge Stadium in the Perth suburb of Mount Claremont.

Court Layout

Two courts will be used simultaneously. The Court layout will be 25 metres long by 15 metres wide. Pool depth is a constant 2.0 metres.

Championships Format

The following categories will be contended (indicative prices below):

  • Open  $125 pp plus presso ($70.00)
  • Women $125 pp plus presso ($70.00)
  • Masters (over 35 Men, over 32 Women)  $125 pp plus presso ($70.00)
  • Junior (under 19)  $ pp plus 75 presso ($70.00)

The Games format will be run by the following guidelines:

  • A category with 7 teams or more will conduct a single round robin to determine the seeding for the finals playoffs.
  • A category with 4 to 6 teams will conduct a double round robin to determine the seeding for the finals playoffs.

State representatives are to provide final list of teams to Craig MacKenzie by 15 November 2011.

A tournament information pack will be organised for all competing states once the list of competiting teams has been confirmed to ensure the information provided is as up to date as possible.This will include all costings such as registration, presentation night / social functions and a more detailed time schedule.
