What is an MPIO?
A Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) is a trained, impartial support person who provides information and guidance to anyone in our sporting community with concerns about member protection, behaviour, or wellbeing.
In relation to Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), an MPIO helps individuals understand their options, rights, and the appropriate reporting pathways under SIA policies. They do not investigate complaints but assist by offering confidential support, explaining processes, and directing people to the correct resources or authorities.
Safe Sport Hotline
We’ve made changes to simplify how you reach us. Our two public-facing phone lines, 1800 161 361 and 1300 027 232, have now been consolidated into one trusted number for all enquiries: Safe Sport Hotline: 1800 161 361 This single point of contact makes it easier for you to access support on integrity-related matters, including safeguarding, racism and cultural concerns, discrimination, and guidance on reporting issues in sport. To better reflect how the service is used, the Safe Sport Hotline will now operate during standard business hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (excluding national and ACT public holidays).
Note: The Sport Integrity Australia office will be closed from Thursday, 25 December 2025 until Friday, 2 January 2026. The hotline will be unavailable during this time. Our commitment to supporting the sporting community remains the same. Our team is ready to assist, answer questions, and connect you with additional support services if needed.
